UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS SEMESTER I ACADEMIC SESSION 2026/2027 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The general academic requirements for admission into the undergraduate degree
programme of UTHM are:

  • At least three (3) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’ (GCE), ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Education System) obtained in one sitting; OR
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six (6) subjects obtained in one sitting; OR
  • A Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualification recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the Senate of the University; OR
  • Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent to the above. AND
  • English Language Requirements:

 AND
• The qualification and entry requirements for the programmes will be determined based on the “THE LIST OF ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS” published by the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA)

Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours (BFF)
8 Semesters / 4 Years

Applicants must complete 12 years of Primary and High School Education and obtained
High School Certificate (eg. A‐Level, HSC, SMU, & Matayom Suksa 6 (Thailand), International Baccalaureate etc.) or Diploma in related fields

High School Certificates
1. Obtained High School Certificate level or its equivalent with minimum entry
qualification of CGPA 2.50, AND
2. A minimum grade C in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology. OR

Diploma in related field
1. Obtained Diploma in Civil or related field with minimum CGPA of 2.50
OR

A Level
1. A minimum grade C in Mathematics AND
2. A minimum grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:
• Physics
• Chemistry/Biology
• Further Mathematics
OR

International Baccalaureate (IB)
1. A minimum grade 4 in Mathematics AND
2. A minimum grade 4 in the following subjects
• Physics
• Chemistry/Biology

University will determine the merit and suitability of the applicant’s academic grades

in the case where the applicant has not taken the subject in his/her examinations. The applicants do not have physical disability, making it difficult for practical work.
Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BFR)
6 Semesters / 3 Years

Applicants must complete 12 years of Primary and High School Education and obtained
High School Certificate (eg. A‐Level, HSC, SMU & Matayom Suksa 6 (Thailand), International Baccalaureate etc.) or Diploma in related fields.

High School Certificates
1. Obtained High School Certificate level or its equivalent with minimum entry
qualification of CGPA 2.50, AND
2. A minimum grade C in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology. OR

Diploma in related field
1. Obtained Diploma in Civil or related field with minimum CGPA of 2.50

3. Candidates must attend an interview session with the faculty. Faculty reserves the
right to decide based on suitability during the session.

faculty.
